The association for legal education and transparency LET Station was founded in September 2018 and started to actively operate in January 2019.
The term ‘station’ itself refers to a place where people can always turn to, and the work LET is an acronym and refers to legal education and transparency. This means that this association is a place where all citizens can be education in the field of law and can ask for help, but also transparency and accountability from the institutions.
MAIN GOALS
- Providing education and assistance to citizens with respect to realization of their rights, focusing on marginalized groups, especially Roma population in the area of health and social rights.
- Encouraging system’s institutions to transparency and accountability in their work, tailored according to citizens’ needs.
- Promotion of citizens’ equality on all grounds by undertaking activities on prevention and protection against discrimination.
- Encouraging physical and legal entities to engage themselves in humanitarian activities in order to reduce poverty.
- Providing conditions for multi-ethnic and social cohesion and action by inclusion of people from different ethnic, geographical and social profiles as an opportunity in achieving real and effective contribution to positive changes in the society.
- Contribution to achieving gender equality and addressing the existing inequalities between men and women with respect to promoting women’s engagement in societal processes.
